Compatible with all TVs and HD signals:Whether you live in a big city our out in a rural area, chances are you have free available HD signals being broadcast in your area. All you have to do is get this antenna installed and you'll be enjoying crystal clear HDTV in your home. This antenna is also perfect for standard televisions that don't support HD. You of course need an HDTV to enjoy full high definition images, but there are also many standard definition signals available and the Vortex will pick all of them up.Motorized Rotation and Remote Included. The Vortex HD includes a built-in motor and wireless remote. This means you need only to get on the roof once. Once installed, if you ever need to make an adjustment, the wireless remote allows you to rotate the antenna 360 degrees. The rotator allows one full rotation and then automatically rotates the opposite direction for another full rotation to avoid cable wrapping around the pole. Built-in Booster There are other antennas on the market that claim to have a built-in booster but don't go to any lengths to explain what that means. With antennas, since they passively receive signals that are broadcast from afar, have no way of 'boosting' the signal coming from the signal tower. The signal any antenna receives is as good a signal that it's ever going to get, no matter how expensive it is. The Vortex HD, however, does have a booster that strengthens the signal strength in the wire between the antenna and your TV. This allows you to increase the length of your cable without worrying about signal loss. With a high-quality coaxial cable, you could extend the signal up to 300 feet. Easy Assembly The majority of the parts are already assembled. The estimated time to get the antenna ready for mounting is 5-7 minutes out of the box.

360 Motorized Rotation (no cable wrapping) Picks up both HD and Standard TV signals Built-in Booster, Supports Multiple TVs At Once On Different Channels 5 Minute Assembly Package Contents:Vortex HD Antenna, Remote Control, Power Supply, Manual, 36 ft Coaxial Cable

Especially when you consider it is amplified. It doesn't seem to be super-directional, which is fine with me as I don't have problems with any reflections or tall buildings; +- 20 degrees not a big drop in signal. But don't depend on the rotator motor; Mine gets stuck easy, and totally stopped moving before I even got it on the roof! Likewise in high wind it may move on it's own as the motor doesn't really lock the position into place. It is 100% ABS plastic except for the 2 side elements. ABS is not good with UV, so I will probably paint it. For the money, who cares? If it's in your attic then no worries I guess. The front "elements" of the antenna are not connected at all! I think it is intended to help increase directionality. I removed the entire front boom with the silly looking elements and the gain was not affected at VHF or UHF. If anything, it increased the gain a bit. So you can make the antenna smaller and not as goofy looking, just leaving off the front part.I viewed the assembly work as a fun puzzle. It doesn't tell you which size screws go where, but I bet you can figure it out!Range of antenna:All of...

This antenna worked awesome. I read all the reviews and I was hoping for a decent antenna. I have to say this is a great antenna and past worth the money. Before I was getting 11 hd channels and 3 analog, after the antenna I got 49 total hd channels (clear no pixel breaking) , plus 5 analog. I have to say the antenna does not come with base to intall it on your roof, the black pole on the bottom of the antenna you see in the picture needs to be attached to an antenna base. I got a used one, direct tv dish for 10 bucks on craiglist and held great. Im sure you can get a base at wal mart or radio shack. Anyway the antenna itself, one question i had was how to split the signal to other rooms in the house, simple i got a three way splitter that is labeled hd "power pass," that is important because this antenna is powered. Also what helped me get great signal was going to google search for "hdtv signal" first link should be "antenna web," you type in your address, it will give you the exact degree to point the antenna for optimal signal, If you have a smartphone download a compass app with degree capability and no need to spend money on this its free. Hope this helps you make a decisio...

I received my Vortex HD atenna in a timely manner. It included typical (made in China) assembly instructions. Even at that it only took about 15 minutes to assemble. However, there are no instructions on how to actually attach it to the TV. Where the unit should be placed in accordance to the TV, etc. And also, no troubleshooting ideas. Such as what to do if the remote does not affect the rotation of the antenna or, what to do if the antenna only rotates one way and only sometimes, etc. I'm perplexed. Likely going to unassemble and return this product.Sewell Vortex HD Digital Outdoor HDTV Antenna with Remote Control, Amplified and Motorized 360 Degree Rotation, UHF/VHF...

After a quick replacement of a defective part, this antenna has a range of 91.1 miles! I live between Athens and Huntsville Alabama, that's in North Alabama on the Alabama-Tennessee state line. Because I was hearing so much about these long range antennas, I wanted to see if I could Pick up Birmingham Ala., which is about 90 miles south of here in the center of the state. After reading feedback and checking prices on various sites, I choose this one because of the price and warranty. After receiving and assembling the antenna, I discovered a defect in the control box that wouldn't send power to the antenna. I emailed them and they were very supportive and quickly sent me a replacement. I couldn't ask for better service. I just set the thing on my back porch pointing south and was picking up channels all the way from here to Birmingham 91.1 miles away! I bought another one for my Brother. He lives in Taft Tennessee way down in a holler with hills all around him. I'm talking about something like a hole in the ground. Imagine a 40 degree slope going down at least 300 yards with high hills all around that. He was able to pick up channels in Nashville which is, if I remember right, ov...

I wasn't quite sure what to expect at this price point and as the old adage goes "you get what you pay for." Upon arriving I noticed that the main part of the unit that is preassembled was completely missing one of the two main bolts that attach one of the side antenna arms. This left that antenna arm only half connected which made it very unstable. I also noticed that the label on the remote was all bent up on one of the corners. If I was buying a used unit I could understand some of these flaws happening from wear and tear, but this was a brand new unit! I was not impressed with the workmanship that when into building this antenna. The whole thing feels like it's made out of very cheap plastic. I tried contacting support about getting the missing bolt, but they insisted on me shipping the entire unit back so they could send me a new one instead of just sending me the missing part. Not wanting to go through that hassel I went to my local hardware store and bought a replacement bolt for $0.50. All that being said the antenna does work. I pick up more stations than I did with an indoor antenna. That's why I give it 2 starts instead of one. If you are looking for a cheap antenna th...

First, the executive summary: The antenna was installed this morning and is working beyond expectations! It pulled in 20 stations (80 channels in all). We live in the Richmond suburb of Houston, about 20 miles from most transmitters. The product came in neatly packaged. The 1-page user and assembly manual was clear and precise. It took me 15 min to assemble the antenna with a screwdriver. The rotor and the remote worked as described. We have a 2-yr contract with a cable company expiring this month. It (the cable contract) came about after our Phillips antenna (on a 10 ft pole on the roof) stopped working after about 2 months. I thought I'd give over-the-air-signal another try with this low cost Sewell antenna this time. The rating given to it by the reviewers was good, but could be better. The following are the details of the installing:Instead of taking down the old Philips antenna, I decided to try the Sewell in the antic first (a couple of reviewers' comments gave me the idea). I put the antenna on top of a 1" PVC pipe. Duct-taped the pipe to a vertical rafter. Connected the antenna cable to the house TV cable. The whole thing took less...

This antenna works OK, and it does allow me to receive all local and regional channels in HD. It does not, however, have the stated range, at least from my experience. I have out of town stations within 60 miles, and it cannot pull them in. Turning the antenna did not change things. I installed it in my attic, to give it the best chance of success....

I live in a camper in a campground near Spartanburg, South Carolina which has a lot of trees around. The campers original antenna was a Winegard. I was having a lot of reception problems, you name it Pixelation, loss of quality and loss of channels. With the Vortex HDTV Antenna at first my thought was I would be wasting my money being in the woods and all but, for the chance to make an improvement from what I had I thought what the heck...What a surprise I got. This antenna is worth every penny and more. More channels to view, more sharper and clearer pictures. Just like cable TV itself and so long to the pixelation issue, gone for good. I'm very happy with this antenna. I give it 5 stars. I'll wait to see if the hot sun fades the black plastic areas but I bought it to watch TV not to watch the fading, if that will happen. All in all if you want a very good antenna, I recommend this one. Assembly was a snap as well....

I use this on my motorhome. The Wineguard batwing antenna I was using performed so poorly, using rabbit ears was noticeably better. I got most channels, but it was a real struggle. But then I got this Sewell Vortex antenna. WOW, was I glad I did. It gets every available channel in my area, and in my case, I don't even have to turn or adjust it. A real pleasure.A friend bought a similarly designed antenna from another company, and his does not perform as well as the Sewell Vortex antenna. What can I say. Good price, packing, performance. Perfect in these first couple months I've owned it. No brainer 5 star....
